Evaluating a strategy to make ethno-musicology data FAIR
Framework: ASEA-Uninet
Duration: 2018, 2019, 2021/22
Next workshop December, 13th 2022. at the University of the Philippines College of Music/Center for Ethnomusicology (Registration Link).
The previous workshop has been Friday/Saturday 15th & 16th July 2022 (10:30 – 16:00) at the Universiti Malaya College of Music.
WORKSHOP THEME:
Goal of the upcoming, in-depth workshop meeting at Universiti Malaya is to work on the practical side of data management in musicology. This workshop will bring together relevant actors in the south-east Asian region, including consortium members who already contributed but will also help to extend the network with new contacts that have been established during the last year such as Prof. Hanafi, Prof. Loo Fung Ying (Universiti Malaya), and Prof. Santaella (Sunway University).
As all work and communication was virtual in last year, this ASEA-project allows us meet in person again in 2022. Many archives are currently under development e.g. Prof. Santaella (SU, www.myarchives.online); Dr. H.Saglam (mdw, Austria, www.mdw.ac.at/ive/archiv/); Prof. Bowman, Dr. Yimwadsana (Mahidol, Thailand, https://mahidol.ac.th/museums-and-collections/) and the research work at this stage will be highly productive, and give the possibility together with the researchers from UM to streamline the repository interfaces towards future compatibility.
